WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
Thank you for joining us on this exciting new website. The set-up is quite straightforward and you should be able to find things easily with the ‘drop down’ menus.
Please note: the ‘member section‘ is located under the ‘MEMBERSHIP’ button located at the top of the page (next to ‘ABOUT US’).

Did you miss the Ballarat show? Here are some photos:
What does VAME get up to here? Well, we were invited by the Melbourne Museum to give feedback on their upcoming exhibition on miniatures. Ten lucky VAME members went to this meeting and they had a wonderful time:

One of our youngest VAME members, Fiona’s son Thomas, was also present.
What a wonderful morning tea.
(F.L.T.R) Leonie, Karen, Jan
The exhibition is going to extend to models, cars, trains and many other objects
As you can see, the museum had many items for us to look at.
After the meeting, our VAME members could wander through the current exhibitions at leisure.
(F.L.T.R) Angie, Susan and Andrea enjoying lunch and coffees afterwards.
Our AGM is over for another year, and don’t we all appreciate how quick it was! Thanks to last years committee for all of their hard work and welcome to the new members who join the returning cohort for the coming year. Please see the list of Committee members under the ‘About Us’ heading. The Committee meets at 9am on workshop days and all are welcome to come and sit in at any time. See you soon.
After our wonderful show a couple of weeks ago we found a little girl’s bag had been left behind. If you know of anyone who lost such a bag please contact Marg on 0438 358 133 and she will be able to arrange for it to be restored to its owner.
VALE: Jess Tomlinson
Our very dear friend and long -time VAME member Jess Tomlinson passed away this week. Jess suffered a severe stroke about 10 days ago and slipped away peacefully on Thursday last. She has been surrounded by all her family in that time. Jess was a wonderful seamstress and she transferred her skills of sewing, smocking and knitting to her miniatures – we have loved seeing the family wedding dresses duplicated in miniature over the years – they were very beautiful. Jess loved her family and was much loved in return by them all and she will be greatly missed by them. Jess will also be missed by us miniaturists – she was always good for a chat and she was a lovely lady who was always kind and caring and interested in everyone around her – she has been part of VAME since it started. Our sincere condolences go to Jan Stillard and her extended family – our workshops won’t be quite the same anymore.
Robyn T. has organised the advertising for the show this year. She has arranged an interview with the ABC news radio (with Andrea) last week and today they wrote an article about the VAME show. To see it, click here:
Christine K. (Queensland) has been busy over the last few months and she has sent us photos of her last finished projects:
Make your own dolls and dollhouse and get two hundred thousand pounds for it. The only problem is that you’ll have to wait three hundred years to cash in 🙂
